From the Spotlight to the Savior

Ana Remos spent over twenty years in the high-paced world of luxury journalism, most notably at the Miami Herald. Her career was defined by black-tie galas, high-profile interviews, and the glamorous "luxury lifestyle". Yet, in the middle of the social noise, Ana felt a deeper calling. Born in Cuba and raised in Spain, she grew up between a father who was a diplomat and a mother who was deeply devoted to her faith. While her career took her to the heights of media success, Ana’s true story isn’t about the famous people she met, but about the God who never let go of her hand, even when she was looking "outside" at fashion and status instead of "inside" at her spirit.

The Heart of a Servant Leader

In a world that often demands 60-hour work weeks, Ana’s leadership style was rooted in a different priority: her children. Even as she managed a 300-person company, she was the only employee who left every day at 2:00 p.m. to pick up her son. She viewed her role as a mother as the "best work" she ever did. This same heart for people bled into her journalism. At crowded galas, she wasn't just looking for a headline; she was looking for a soul. She remembers praying for months for a stranger she met only once, proving that true Christian leadership is about caring for the one person everyone else forgets.

The Miracle at 4:00 A.M.

Faith became literal for Ana through a life-threatening health crisis. A Type 1 diabetic since childhood, Ana has lived a miraculous life where she has avoided the typical complications of the disease—something her own brother, a doctor, cannot explain. One night, her blood sugar dropped dangerously low while she was fast asleep. In that moment of near-death, her daughter’s phone—which was completely dead and out of power—miraculously turned on and played a song to wake her up. The screen flashed the words, "We were meant for so much more," before dying again. It was a divine wake-up call that God still had a purpose for her life.

The Power of "Letting Go"

One of the hardest chapters of Ana’s life was the end of her first marriage at just 23 years old. After losing her second child only three days after birth, her world began to crumble. She spent a month "fighting with God" in a small chapel, demanding to know why life was so unfair. But one afternoon, the anger vanished. She realized she didn't need to understand God’s plan; she just needed to accept it out of love. The moment she dropped the ball in God’s hands and said, "I love you," the doors for a new beginning—including a rare church annulment—immediately opened.

Anchoring Hope in the Dry Seasons

Now semi-retired, Ana describes her life as "24/7 for God". She admits that even the strongest believers face "dry periods" where they don't feel the Holy Spirit. But as she told David Mansilla, faith isn't a feeling—it’s a commitment. When we show up for God even when we feel nothing, we are giving Him the purest form of love. Ana’s journey from the newsroom to a life of quiet prayer reminds us that if we seek the faith that moves mountains, God is always listening. Her story is a beautiful reminder that no matter how fast you are running, God’s mercy is faster.

I’m not going to try. I’m not going to understand. The key here is to accept just because I love God. As soon as I realized that... that it was a call for love of God, that peace came into me.
