From Brokenness to Purpose
Dawn Mucci is a mother of three, entrepreneur, franchisor, and songwriter. Before she became a successful business owner with locations across Canada, her life looked very different. She was a high school dropout, a single mother living on social assistance, and struggling to figure out her place in the world.
When Dawn was a young mom, a familiar problem returned to her home: head lice. It was something she had suffered through as a child, where she was teased, stigmatized, and left feeling unworthy. Getting lice again instantly brought back feelings of fear and shame. But in that dark place, God did something incredible. He planted a seed in her heart and called her to turn a painful problem into an act of love and service.

Without formal business training or money to start, Dawn stepped out in faith. She bought a single suitcase and started visiting family homes across Toronto to help mothers in need. What felt like a low point in her life became the very foundation for the purpose God had planned for her all along.
Meeting Real Needs with Love
When God gives you a vision, He doesn't just ask you to run a business—He calls you to serve people. Dawn’s main company, Lice Quad, grew from a single suitcase into a nationwide service that offers both mobile visits and storefront salons. Treating lice isn't a flashy business, and many people might look down on it, but Dawn and her team treat it as true ministry. They step into embarrassing, stressful situations and offer relief, dignity, and care.

During the global pandemic, when schools closed and her lice business ground to a halt, Dawn didn't lose faith. Instead of giving up, she listened to God's whisper and started a new business: Superhero Kids Hair Care.
This salon gives children living with autism and sensory-processing needs a quiet, safe, and private environment to get a haircut. When traditional salons feel overwhelming and loud, Dawn’s business offers a calm space filled with understanding. By trusting God during hard times, she created a haven for families who felt they had nowhere else to go.
Leadership Built on Faith and Trust
For the first five years of her journey, Dawn was a solopreneur. She answered every phone call, booked every appointment, made every visit, and handled all the administrative work herself. But doing everything alone quickly led to burnout. She realized that to honor the vision God gave her, she had to learn to trust others and delegate.
As her company expanded into a franchise model, Dawn developed a leadership style built around people, trust, and shared values:
Servant Leadership: She views leadership not as being the boss, but as raising up other leaders and giving them the space to grow.
Shared Mission: She chose a franchise model because it connects her with people who care deeply about serving their local communities.
Christian Culture: Over time, God brought together a team of believers who share her commitment to faith and compassionate service.
Dawn learned to step out of the way of her own ego and let God lead her business decisions. By trusting her team with daily operations, she freed herself up to focus on what she does best: sharing her story, connecting with people, and spreading hope.
Surrendering the Storms
Running a business is never smooth sailing. Dawn has faced severe economic recessions, a global pandemic, and the everyday stress of financial pressure. There were moments when anxiety tried to creep in, making her worry about losing everything.
In those moments, Dawn didn't rely on human wisdom or self-effort. She went to her knees in prayer. She surrendered her fears to God, knowing that He hadn't brought her this far just to abandon her.

Dawn reminds us that we don't need to strive for perfection to receive God’s blessings. We don't have to be "good enough" on our own strength because His grace covers our weaknesses. When challenges come, surrendering control to God brings a peace that passes understanding. If God places a vision in your heart, He will provide the strength, wisdom, and resources to see it through.
Dreaming for the Kingdom
Looking back over 25 years in business, Dawn sees God’s faithful hand in every step of her journey. But her story isn't finished yet. As she prepares to transition her role and hire a new CEO to manage daily operations, she is stepping into a fresh season of life.
Her biggest passion outside of business is writing lyrics and composing Christian worship music. She dreams of using her gift of words to write songs that will touch hearts, bring people closer to Jesus, and offer comfort to those who are hurting.

Dawn’s life shows us that your past does not define your future.
