The Powerful New Way the Gospel Is Touching the World

The Great Commission in the Age of AI

The commandment to "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) has never changed, but the battlefield—the mission field—has. We are witnessing the simultaneous advance of technology and the decline of human connection. This isn't a contradiction; it's a divine challenge. Jeremy Holloway and David Mansilla discuss a central principle: everything we have—time, talent, and technology—is a gift from God that we are called to steward. We must adopt a godly mindset toward tools like AI, recognizing they are created gifts, not idols. We are small 'lords' given charge over what God has provided, and we must not let technology steward us. The new strategy for spreading the Gospel is simple: use your God-given talents and the technologies He has allowed to be invented to advance the church.

Breaking the Digital Borders

The most compelling proof that technology can be redeemed for God's glory is its immediate use in evangelism. AI is not inherently evil; it's like a knife: you can use it to destroy or to cut your food. David Mansilla shares his ministry's powerful new strategy: using AI to translate videos to reach Arab-speaking countries, Israel (in Hebrew), and beyond. This capability breaks language barriers and digital borders, enabling the Gospel to go forth without the need for vast manpower. Jesus is using AI to fulfill His purpose because all wisdom and knowledge come from the Creator. We shouldn't be afraid or miss the opportunity; we must have wisdom and discernment to use this tool to share the Word of Christ.

The Leadership of Jeremy Holloway

Jeremy Holloway's powerful intergenerational program, Tellegacy, is a testament to the power of responding to God's direction. His career shift—from leading worship in Ohio to becoming a geriatrics professor in North Dakota and now a professor at New Mexico Highlands University—was a leap of faith driven by a sermon about older adults who were losing hope due to social isolation and loneliness. His leadership demonstrates:

  • Divine Call: The path was set by the Lord, but Jeremy chose to follow.

  • Empathy and Action: When he heard the elderly "losing hope" and feeling unheard, he decided to do something about it.

  • Strategic Vision: He designed a program that is a win-win for everyone, pairing health care students with older adults for intentional conversation and legacy book creation.

His program is a manifestation of his personal relationship with the Lord, showing that God uses our gifts for a purpose greater than ourselves.

Using Your Talent to Honor God: The Tellegacy Example

The Tellegacy program brilliantly showcases how God weaves together separate talents and gifts into a beautiful ministry. The solution is rooted in the Bible's principle to honor your father and mother—the only commandment that comes with a blessing.

  • Healthcare Students (Talent): Students gain cultural, emotional, and social experience with the 65-and-older population, which will make up 80% of their clientele (outside of pediatrics). This gives them a meaningful education.

  • Older Adults (Talent): The elderly are given a voice, their wisdom is respected, and their life history is documented in a legacy book. This restores their hope and sense of value.

  • Jeremy's Leadership (Talent): His background and ability to see a holistic solution—social connection, educational development, and ministry—created a replicable model that universities and senior facilities can adopt.

This is a model for all of us: we are to reign in life by stewarding our gifts, big or small, to serve others.

The Call to Intentional Connection

We are meant to be connected—to the Lord ("I am the vine, you are the branches") and to each other. The challenge of the Information Age is that convenience and social media make it easy to isolate, which leads to depression, anxiety, and a loss of "social resiliency".

The final motivation is clear: we must be intentional.

  1. Be Alert, Not Alarmed: Approach the world with spiritual awareness, testing everything, just like tending a garden.

  2. Physical Church: Worshiping with brothers and sisters in Christ physically leads to exponential spiritual growth that streaming services cannot replace.

  3. Choose Jesus: The most important decision is to begin a relationship with Jesus right now, for that is the one thing no one can ever take away.

When we seek to please our Master and follow Him, we receive the wisdom and protection needed to use all tools—even the most advanced technology—for His glory.
