Your One Talent Is Waiting to Multiply!

LaVerne Cox

Founder of Evergreen Investments

Listen in as LaVerne Cox, founder of Evergreen Investments, joins the Anchoring Hope Podcast to share the wisdom that transcends the noise of daily life, which is rooted in the pillars of faith, family, and finance. As a Child of God, and Christ's beloved bride, we are called to dominate and not be defeated by the cares of the world. LaVerne clears the thicket of confusion surrounding home ownership as a fleeting dream as a lie. She replaces it with the reminder that ownership is a sacred garden where we grow in patience and trust in the Father's provision. We'll explore how tending to what God has already entrusted to us unfolds paths to fulfilling our first assignment "to be fruitful and multiply" through the use of steps that transfer the space we live into a sanctuary not only for our family, but a garden for building legacy for others within our community.

Evergreen Investments seeks to demystify terms like mortgages, equity, and investments while offering a path to doors of overlooked opportunities. They offer instruction that reflects how steps of diligence in managing your housing payments could bridge the gap into ownership and an inheritance where your property ownership begins working for you. The time to plant is now; the path to legacy is open. Visit Evergreen Investments to begin your journey from renting to ownership.

The Call to Step Out – A Brooklyn Exodus

LaVerne Cox’s journey began in the crowded streets of Brooklyn, New York. Living with six people in a one-bedroom apartment, the dream of a "palatial" life felt physically impossible. Yet, it was in this place of limitation that the Holy Spirit began to stir her heart. Faith is not merely a feeling; it is a movement. LaVerne realized that to secure the future of her children, she had to follow the path of the patriarchs like Abraham, leaving the familiar for a place the Lord would show her.

She navigated the eastern corridor until the Lord planted her in Metro Atlanta over 16 years ago. This move wasn’t just about square footage; it was about Financial Stewardship and obedience. By seeking the Kingdom first, she moved from a one-bedroom to a five-bedroom home—a "palatial palace" provided by the hand of God.

“One with God is a majority. Start with the one talent you have and ask the Lord how to multiply it.”‍ ‍

The Heart of the Steward – Business as Ministry

Evergreen Investments was born not just as a real estate services company, but as a ministry call. LaVerne’s leadership style is rooted in the belief that the Lord gives us the "power to generate wealth" not for our own greed, but to be Kingdom Builders.

Through Evergreen Investments, LaVerne seeks to demystify the financial principles of homeownership. Her business focuses on the 30% Rule: keeping housing costs (rent and utilities) under 30% of take-home pay. This ensures that believers aren't enslaved by debt, but have the capacity to be obedient to God's next call.

The Discipline of the Talent – Building Faith Muscle

The "wicked servant" in the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25) is a powerful warning that LaVerne takes to heart. She identifies the fear of starting small as a "mindset trap". God often starts with the unlikely to perform the miraculous, just as He chose David over Saul.

LaVerne’s story is one of Delayed Gratification and "building faith muscle". When capital for her business was slow to arrive, she didn't stop; she pivoted to mentoring over 270 interns. This is true leadership—being accountable for every resource, whether it is time, breath, or finance.

Ownership as a Sacred Garden – Creating Sanctuary

"A Place to Call Home"—this is the vision Evergreen Investments is launching for 2026. LaVerne views homeownership as more than a financial transaction; it is a Sacred Garden where families grow. It is about taking a house that has seen better days and, through the "But God effect," restoring it for someone willing to be financially accountable.

True ownership makes you a stakeholder in your community. It allows you to protect the environment where your children live, rather than letting outsiders determine your family's policies. Your home becomes a sanctuary, a base from which you can serve the Lord and provide shelter to the wanderer.

The Path to Legacy – Your Invitation

The time to plant is now. LaVerne’s message is clear: do not compare your journey to others, and do not be defeated by the "noise" of inflation or media-driven fear. Whether you are a renter starting with one talent or an investor looking to secure a Generational Legacy, the path is open.

Evergreen Investments offers instruction that reflects how steps of diligence in managing your housing payments could bridge the gap into ownership and an inheritance where your property ownership begins working for you.

He wants you to have the heart to produce more long before the "more" comes.‍ ‍
