If he somehow lived, he would have to relearn every basic skill and spend his life as a broom sweeper.
But God had a different medical report.
Defying all biological laws, Michael was back at work in 30 days. Within 90 days, he completely weaned himself off heavy narcotics. A year later, he walked into the world-renowned Mayo Clinic for a follow-up. Two neurosurgeons stared blankly at his charts, then at him, utterly bewildered.
"They said, 'Sir, you must be in the wrong room... We've looked at your scans. You should not be walking or talking. We figured you'd be coming in a wheelchair... Medically speaking, we can't answer it. There's a higher power that made that decision.'"
