Read about the top three lessons from this episode:

Lesson #1: Discipline Keeps You Growing

One of the greatest attributes a person can have that will offer a huge advantage in growth is discipline, especially as an entrepreneur. Everyone has things they hate to do, even as entrepreneurs. The routine tasks can be especially dreadful, but you know it's the right path, and having the discipline to do it anyway makes a big difference and gives you an advantage over others. For Gary, he learned discipline when serving in the army. He was able to apply all that he learned as an entrepreneur. The good news with this is you don’t have to serve in the army to develop discipline. Even the small things, like making your bed when you wake up, is great practice.

Lesson #2: Make Your Money Work For You

We are all familiar with the famous phrase, “Money is the root of all evil.” Well, it’s not actually true, when you have a good relationship with money. Financial coaches like Gary play a big role in helping people know who they are and think about their money in a way that is beneficial to them and their family. When you understand money as playing a role in your life, it will help you develop financial literacy that lasts through every generation. This helps families stay together, because so often they fall apart because of money. When you have a good relationship with money, you can handle the stress that comes from debt, taxes, and all financial matters in your life while not losing the things that matter to you most.

Lesson #3: The Scars of Entrepreneurship

Having your own business is never easy. Business owners may have different experiences, personalities, and backgrounds, but all of them have one thing in common; they have been through tough times in their business journey, and this experience made them stronger and better as a person. So, for those young entrepreneurs and new business owners out there, when you get to that defining point in your journey, remember that it is where you will experience the most growth. When you have overcome that, you can look back to that day anytime and be proud of what you’ve become and your accomplishments.
